Forrest Commons is one of Indianapolis’ premiere neighborhoods on the south side. It is only two miles south of I465 between US 31 and Meridian Street, spanning Banta Road. The southern section was developed in 1985. It was previously known as Penn’s woods, named for Mattie Penn, a descendant of Quaker William Penn. The northern section was developed in 1990. All 99 custom homes are served by Indianapolis utilities and Perry Township Schools. Forrest Commons’ residents are close to everything urban, yet with a suburban atmosphere of trees, ponds and beautiful landscapes. Downtown Indianapolis is only 15 minutes north; Greenwood Park Mall is less than 10 minutes south; Carmel is just 30 minutes away. So you can see why we love Forrest Commons!
